Happy New Year 2019

Yesterday, one of my gurus (guide or teacher) told me that she was taking a resolution. It was about to complete the bible in 2019. I was wondering why she is making that as her resolution as she does this regularly. I pondered for a moment. Later I thought she is right and she is after the promise. I decided to walk with her and read the Bible together. I think we need God’s strength to do everything.  Let us look at the four promises which Desiring.org has shared to us.

1.     God’s work – Revives our soul

The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving our Soul. (Psalm 19:7)

No matter what you feel, when we read His word and pray, in time we will experience his great works. I know His presence would transform our thinking, our doing and our endeavor.

2.     God’s word- Lightens your path.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my pat (Psalm 119:105)

The world thinks differently. It talks about toxic, misinformation (word of the year 2018) but His word would guide you where to go.

3.     God’s word- frees your from sin

If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.  (John 8: 31-32)

We are in the trap of sin. Who will deliver us? How would we be convicted from it? It’s His word who would tell us where we are. Our strength is powerless against them. But if we abide in Him, he would fight for us.

4.     God’s word- Strengthen your faith

Faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ (Romans 10:17)

Reading God’s word will give us strength. Like we have got pump with when we are riding a bike. We can pump in it anytime we needed.
